Watch the dramatic B-pillar and you will agree that Opel Tigra is as radical as some show cars. It does not look like a coupe as it is, but it is really stylish, no one can deny this. Therefore, I have chosen it as one of my "Favourite post-war designs". Apart from styling, Tigra cannot be said as a brilliant car. Base on the Corsa chassis and the familiar Ecotec engines ( 105hp 1.6 litres and 95hp 1.4 litres ), you can hardly expect it to be a hot coupe. I am not saying that a good coupe cannot be based on a sedan chassis, but at least Corsa is not the right one to be based on. On the contrary, Ford base its Puma on the Fiesta, which has the best chassis among all superminis. Therefore Puma is a lot more dynamic and it becomes our favourite. Report created before 16 Feb 99.
