PSA / Fiat did not let us down, it created a MPV which is capable in handling like normal cars, while providing all the convenience an MPV could have, and most important, in an economical manner. Although 806 is not as dynamic as Sharan and Opel Sintra, it drives more like a sedan than other MPV from USA and Japan, something very important to european. Its driving position is similar to normal cars, especially because the cable-operated gearshifter is mounted relatively high on the central console. The Fiat suspensions are good to deal with bumps and body roll while still comfortable enough, so now you know why PSA did not insisted to use their own design. In the cabin, clever seating layout make it as versatile as any best rivals bar the Renault ( since the new Espace has sliding rail for seats ). Sliding doors in both sides make in and out a lot more convenient, not many MPVs have such layout.
The most distinguishable part is the engine, because 806 adopt the smallest and most economical engines - 123hp 8v four is the cheapest and most fuel efficient one, while the 150hp light pressure turbo version of this engine provides useable torque ( 173lbft ). Both engines enable the price undercut other rivals, and the running cost is also the most impressive. If you want a practical MPV rather than a fast one, 806 should satisfy all your requirements.
